We want to reduce the environmental impacts our business
practices have on our environment, and take our environmental and
sustainability responsibilities very seriously.
We have introduced a number of measures to reduce the
amount of energy we use as a firm:
- we have installed Vision Soft's 'Power Out' software that
automatically puts computers into hibernate mode if they are not
used for 20 minutes
- we use flat screens and energy efficient computers
- we encourage our employees to travel to work by public
transport, and to car share whenever possible
- we also encourage cycling to work and have invested in
bike parking areas
- business travel is reduced by use of teleconferencing and
video conferencing
We also consider the environmental impacts of the
materials we purchase and are committed to reducing the consumption
of paper, recycling and promoting re-use rather than
disposal.
- company literature uses FSC certified paper wherever possible
- we are working towards a paperless 'dead file' retrieval
system
- we have installed double sided printer drivers and staff
are encouraged to print double sided whenever possible
- confidential waste is shredded and recycled into tissue
paper
- we always aim to ensure our events merchandise is
ethically sourced and accedited as CarbonZero or carbon
neutral
- we encourage our legal teams to consider promoting
environmentally friendly services. For example the 'Life for a
Life' memorial forest scheme to reduce carbon emissions by planting
a commemorative tree for a loved one.
Our environmental stance is continually assessed in order
to ensure we are doing as much as we can for the environment, and
that we are aware of the latest carbon-reduction
technologies.
