Firm reinforces support at another ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ fringe meeting
Having supported
similar events in the past, law firm Walker Smith Way is once again
proudly supporting a 'Show the Racism the Red Card' fringe meeting
at the Unite the Union Conference in the Grand
Hotel, Brighton on Tuesday 26 June.
Show Racism
the Red Card is an anti-racism charity, which was established
in January 1996. Their main aim is to produce anti-racist
educational resources, which harness the high profile of
professional footballers to combat racism. And Walker Smith Way is
committed to supporting this worthy charity, and representatives of
'Show Racism
the Red Card' have been invited to the Unite the
Union Conference to talk about the work of the campaign in the
Albert room of the Grand Hotel.
The Guest Speaker at the fringe will be General Secretary of Unite, Len
McCluskey, and Collette Cork-Hurst, also of Unite the
Union, will be chairing the meeting. They will also be
joined by ex-professional footballers Leroy Rosenior and Paul
Mortimer as Show Racism the Red Card representatives to
discuss the charity's campaign work. Professional footballer Jason
Euell will also be at the meeting for a question and answer
session.
These meetings have proved to be very successful in the past and
have helped raise the profile of the charity, highlighting the
anti-racist message to young people.
Walker Smith Way has a long-standing working relationship with
trade unions, and is proud to support members of the
following:
- Communication
Workers Union
- Royal College
of Nursing
- Union of
Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers
- Unite the Union
- National
