Chester, Wrexham
welsh speaker
Ceri joined Walker Smith Way in 2004, having qualified as a
solicitor in 2001. A fluent welsh speaker, Ceri provides
representation before the magistrates court and the crown court.
She covers all general criminal work such as theft, assaults and
public order, but specialises in road traffic prosecutions.
Ceri has successfully defended a number of speeding and excess
alcohol prosecutions. She has an excellent record in succeeding at
exceptional hardship arguments, resulting in many clients keeping
their driving licences in totting up cases.
Ceri has been awarded higher rights of audience for criminal
proceedings which qualifies her to represent clients before the
cown court without the need to instruct a barrister. She is also a
member of the Law Society Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme
and Wrexham's 24 Hour Police Station and Court Duty Solicitor
schemes.

Why did you choose to specialise in crime and defence
representation?
Having undertaken a wide range of criminal and civil
litigation previously, I chose to specialise in criminal law
because I like the diversity and variety of work, the unpredictable
nature of my role and the challenge involved in defending any
case.
What has been the highlight of your career so
far?
Being offered the opportunity to work at Walker Smith
Way.
What do you feel most passionate about within your
working life?
Ensuring that every effort and preparation is undertaken for
all court cases. I know that how and what I say can have a key
influence upon the final verdict or decision on sentence by the
magistrates or judge.
What do you feel most passionate about within your
home life?
Football, food and fine wine.
Have you written anything that's been
published?
Press releases on behalf of clients in local and welsh
newspapers.
If you won the lottery tomorrow, what's the first
thing you'd do?
Buy Wrexham FC and appoint myself as first chairwoman.
