Partner and director David is a highly experienced
member of the Walker Smith Way team, having joined the firm in
1975. David advises clients on all types of clinical negligence
cases but has a particular interest in claims involving cerebral
palsy, birth traumas (especially erb's palsy and shoulder
dystocia), dental and cancer cases.
David is a senior litigator member of APIL (Association of
Personal Injury Lawyers), a member of the Action Against Medical
Accidents (AvMA) referral panel of clinical negligence solicitors
and of the Law Society specialist panel of clinical negligence
solicitors.
Why did you choose to specialise in clinical
negligence?
I saw this as a particularly challenging area of legal
practice which suited my abilities and also involved a detailed
understanding of medical practice.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Winning my first £1 million claim.
What do you feel most passionate about within your working
life?
Enabling my clients to gain some insight into what has
happened to cause them injury and why.
What do you feel most passionate about within your home
life?
My skiing holidays!

do?
Give half to charity and then travel the world.
