Managing partner and director Gareth Humphreys joined the firm
as a trainee in 1988 and now specialises in general employers
liability claims and catastrophic injury. Gareth has always taken a
key interest in management issues and was appointed Walker Smith
Way's first managing partner in the autumn of 2002.
A native welsh speaker, Gareth is also a deputy district judge
and a member of the Law Society's Law Management Section.
Why did you choose to specialise in personal
injury?
More than anything because I enjoy the interaction with
clients. I enjoy the challenges of applying ever changing
legislation and the adversarial nature of personal injury work.
Achieving a successful conclusion to a case on behalf of an
individual who has suffered through no fault of their own is very
satisfying.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Being appointed managing partner of a great firm!
What do you feel most passionate about within your working
life?
The service we supply our clients and the firm itself. I think
it is a fantastic firm in terms of its client base, culture and the
people who work here.
What do you feel most passionate about within your home
life?
Apart from my family of course, the welsh language.
If you won the lottery tomorrow, what's the first thing you'd
do?
