Jo joined Walker Smith Way in 2000 and is a member of the Royal
Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
Jo deals with both private and union personal injury claims and
specialises in road traffic accidents, including motor insurance
bureau claims. Jo also handles workplace accidents and accidents in
public places (such as slips, trips and falls).
Why did you choose to specialise in personal
injury?
It was the area that most interested me. Every case is unique and
achieving a successful conclusion to a case on behalf of someone
who has suffered through no fault of their own is extremely
satisfying.
What has been the highlight of your career so
far?
Winning a very difficult case involving radical airways
dysfunction syndrome following a major toxic exposure to sulphuric
acid. The claimant's condition posed life-threatening risks and he
would continue to suffer asthma indefinitely, with fluctuating
symptoms. The case took over four years to complete and looked
as though it was going to proceed to a final court hearing, but
typically, the case settled at the court door!
What do you feel most passionate about within your
working life?
Providing a reliable, efficient and friendly service to
clients and ensuring the best possible outcome is obtained.
What do you feel most passionate about within your
home life?
My family and Manchester United FC.
If you won the lottery tomorrow, what's the first
thing you'd do?
It would have to involve a purchase of a one way ticket to Oz!
