Martyn began his career as a trainee solicitor at Walker Smith
Way in 1998, qualifying in 2000. Now a partner, he specialises in
employers liability claims, specifically accidents at work and
repetitive strain injuries.
Why did you choose to specialise in this particular area
of law?
I enjoyed working in the personal injury department as a
trainee. It gave me the opportunity to work with and represent
decent and honest working people.
What has been the highlight of your career so
far?
Winning my first trial at court.
What do you feel most passionate about within your
working life?
Getting a decent result for my clients.
What do you feel most passionate about within your
home life?
In terms of leisure pursuits - sport, watching and playing.
Principally golf, closely followed by football. Oh, and
travelling.
If you won the lottery tomorrow, what's the first
thing you'd do?
Order an aston martin and go on the look out for a golf course
and possibly a restaurant to buy! Sadly I fear the legal profession
would have to do without my services.
