advice, assistance and advocacy at the magistrates court
Being questioned at the police station?

- 24 hours, 7 days a
week
Attending court can be a distressing and confusing experience -
particularly for those who have never been in the situation
before.
Our experienced solicitors are sensitive to the issues and will
talk you through the process in everyday language - ensuring you
know what to expect from court proceedings and when this will
occur. As well as advising you whether to plead guilty or not
guilty, we will prepare you fully for any court appearance.
Why have representation at the Magistrates Court?
We will prepare an individual defence case for your
particular situation. We will explore every possible avenue from
tracing and interviewing potential witnesses, instructing experts,
making site visits, taking photographs and viewing camera footage
(where appropriate). You will not have to address the magistrates
or judge yourself - we will present your case on your behalf.
Walker Smith Way has an excellent reputation at the Magistrates
Court, with a good track record of 'not guilty' verdicts.
Public funding (where the government pays for your legal
representation) is available in some cases at the Magistrates Court
including some motoring offences where there is a risk of losing
your licence or livelihood if convicted, or a dispute over the
evidence.
We offer a free half hour consultation at our offices
or on the telephone in relation to any kind of criminal
case.
We are available 24 hours a day for a free
consultation or to attend the police station.
