We recruit trainee Solicitors every year to join us on a two-year rotational programme. The closing date for entry in 2009 has now closed. Any application forms received as of the 1st October 2007 will be considered for training contracts in 2010. The closing date for 2010 applications is 30th September 2008.
As a firm of Specialists offering a full range of legal services to Individuals, Union Members and Businesses, we are able to offer a diverse range of opportunities to Trainees. You will complete four 6-month seats in different areas of the firm, giving you the chance to experience various legal fields before deciding what area you want to specialise in.
We provide intense one-to-one coaching and support to all our trainees. In each seat you will work alongside a Partner in that area, normally sharing their office. We have found that this is the best way to learn and give you the opportunity to put your academic knowledge into practice.
It might interest you to know that many of our Partners began as Trainees including our Managing Partner, Gareth Humphreys and our Training Partner Neil Turnbull so expect plenty of opportunities for career progression.
Trainees from both years also make up the Walker Smith Way Social Committee. The Social Committee is responsible for organising our firm-wide social events and for managing the funds. This is a great way of getting to know people, and for having a lot of fun at the same time.
