Chester half marathon victory for trainee Solicitors

Five trainees from Walker Smith Way solicitors completed the Chester Half Marathon on Sunday 17th May 2009. Caroline Wilson, Rebecca Rushton, Elaine McCrea, Kate Thew and Richard Manley who are all currently completing their two year rotational training programme with the firm raised over £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

A total of 2,081 runners braved the wet and blustery conditions this year to complete the 13.1 miles race which started and finished at the Chester Roodee Racecourse.

After four months of intensive training, all runners completed the race in impressive times. Kate was first to finish in a time of 1.48, followed by Richard with 2.04, Rebecca was next with 2.17 and she was followed by Caroline Wilson at 2.20 and Elaine McCrea at 2.26.

Kate said “We all had a great run even though it was challenging at times due to the wet weather. We are pleased that we raised lots of money for Macmillan Cancer Support as it is a great charity, and would like to thank everyone who sponsored us”.
