Karl trained in North Wales and qualified as a Solicitor in 2003. Having spent most of his post qualified life in North Wales, he moved briefly to Sheffield before moving back to join Walker Smith Way in 2010. He specialises in a number of areas including Wills, Estates Planning, Trusts, Probate and Court of Protection work. Karl is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Why did you choose to specialise in Wills, Trusts & Probate?
The work is varied, so no two days are ever the same. Most of all though, I’m a people person and I enjoy the contact with my clients, which is what this job is all about.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Every time I get the right result for a client is a highlight. From a professional perspective, obtaining full membership of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) was a high point.
What do you feel most passionate about within your working life?
I feel privileged that people come to me for advice in often very difficult situations. I think the only way to honour that is to make sure you do everything you can to fulfil their needs.
What do you feel most passionate about within your home life?
My family and friends, plus my four guitars.
If you won the lottery tomorrow, what is the first thing you would do?
Rapidly expand that guitar collection.
