Collaborative Law

A different way to get divorced

Collaborative Law is a relatively new way of resolving family law matters including divorce, separation, and parenting disputes.  Collaborative Law is a real alternative for couples who want to reach an agreement together, rather than leave important decisions up to the courts. With court proceedings kept to a minimum, both parties avoid the hostility and recriminations that are so often associated with getting divorced.

Both you and your partner will work with trained Collaborative Lawyers who, like you, are committed to reaching an agreement. The four of you will reach solutions and agreement through roundtable meetings. As long as everyone enters the process with a commitment to open communication and honest negotiation, Collaborative Law can be a less stressful and time consuming way to reach agreements. Relationships are often far more amicable, and children especially benefit from seeing their parents working together.
